THE REBIRTH

Today I die,

And today itself I am born again

All that I ever was

I am giving to you now,

And all that I will ever be

Is because you loved me.

I give my hand to you

And vow to be yours forever,

My eyes will seek only you

And my heart will feel complete when you are near,

My body will know only your hands

And my unborn children will be safe in your tender care.

Every breath I take and every promise I make

Every wish that has come through and every dream that will now be lived,

Is all because of you - my love, my life and my greatest companion.

BIOGRAPHY

Anna Sahadeo was born in Trinidad on 5th May, 1977. She began writing poetry at the age of thirteen and has received an award of Merit for Creative Writing from the San Fernando Creative Arts Centre. She is a member of the World Poets Society and is the Founder of The Poet Society of Trinidad and Tobago. She served as President of this organization for the period 13 June, 2008 - 24 April, 2010. In 2009 and 2010, she also had the distinguished opportunity to serve on the Judging Panel for the Finals of The Prime Minister's Best Village Trophy Competition - Poetry Segment. Anna continues to develop her craft and works as a Consultant in the field of Accountancy.
